Fly in to Missoula, Montana overnighting at Ruby’s. If hunting mountain lions during the winter you will likely fly in to Spokane, Washington. You will be picked up the next morning and transported to camp where you will pack in for elk or settle in at the B bar C lodge, depending on which elk camp you are going to. You will be transported back to Missoula, Montana the day after the conclusion of the hunt. Depending on your flight schedule (if you fly) you may need to overnight again at Ruby’s. There are no hidden cost with this hunt.  Tags are guaranteed through the outfitter and there is no lottery or drawing required. The outfitter completes the application for each hunter and purchases the elk & deer tag in March of the year of the hunt. Your deer tag allows you the opportunity to harvest a mule deer, whitetail deer, bear or mountain lion. Add a wolf tag to your bear or elk hunt or hunt wolves on a dedicated winter wolf hunt.

The outfitter has very graciously agreed to work with us on a reasonable payment plan that allows you to book an elk hunt a year or preferably two in advance to secure the best dates as follows: $500 initial deposit per hunter holds your spot. Another $2000 and the cost of the elk and deer tags would be due by January 1st of the year of the hunt. The balance would be due on June 1st the year of the hunt.  All checks are to be made out to hook-n-hunt and sent to me @ hook-n-hunt. I will log your payment and e-mail you a payment log each time we receive a check. Hunts are not confirmed until receipt of check for the January 1st payment. There are no refunds, if you have to cancel for a legitimate reason, money will be put towards a hunt the following year. Deposits will vary based on the hunt. Other hunts can have payments customized if made far enough in advance.

bearHunting is conducted in the Clearwater and St. Joe National Forests, Idaho, in the rugged Bitterroot Mountains. It is important to be in the best physical condition you can achieve prior to the hunt.  Shots up to 500 yards may be required to harvest that big bull. Rifles should be at least 30 caliber or higher and zeroed in for 200 yards. The terrain is mountainous and offers unparalleled vistas and views as well as a very healthy game population. Dedicated Spring and Fall Bear hunts are conducted over baits.

Mules may be used to access the backcountry where elk feel safe; hunting is then actually done on foot. Be prepared for long days of hunting.  Leaving camp in the dark and hunting all day is the norm. All accommodations, food, transportation and lodging are provided to our fully guided hunters once camp is reached.  Transportation to and from the airport is provided by Ruby’s from their motel. Meat and hide will be prepared for transport. Meat processing as well as taxidermy can be arranged and are the hunter's expense.

Elk & Mountain Lion  hunts are 6 days of hunting,  bear, deer, wolf, bobcat hunts are 5 days of hunting.
